Local Community Gains Access to Clean Water Through New Well

A new chapter of hope and health has begun for the residents of  Warmooley as a newly drilled water well now provides safe and clean drinking water to hundreds of families who have long struggled with water scarcity.

The well, drilled by Waseela Somalia organization with the support of generous donors, reaches deep underground to tap into a reliable and sustainable water source. For the people of this community, this means freedom from walking long distances to fetch water from unsafe ponds and rivers. This burden has fallen heavily on women and children for generations.

“Before, we had to wake up before sunrise to collect water, and even then, it was not safe to drink. Now, our children can go to school on time, and we have clean water right here in the village,” said Ali, a resident of Warmooley.

Access to clean water will help reduce the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid, improve sanitation, and support local agriculture. In many remote areas, water wells are a lifeline that improves health, boosts education, and fosters community development.

Waseela Somalia Organization aims to drill more wells in similar communities to ensure that everyone has the basic right to clean and safe water.

This well is not just water it is also life, health, and hope for a better future,” said Abdi Adan. “We thank every donor who made this possible and invite more people to join hands to bring clean water to those in need.”
